Supporting research towards the Valley fever vaccine efforts by looking at the protein CPS1 as a virulence factor for the disease. This research effort tries to corelate the protein's structural and biochemical aspects to understand Valley fever pathogenesis and ways to treat it. Using computational models like AlphaFold and predictive tools, our group first started to see the structural features of CPS1 and now we are advancing towards the use of structural techniques such as cryogenic electron microscopy (CryoEM) and biochemical assays to uncover the activity of the virulence factor.
